Audio reproduction is competition-grade. The high performance DSP, 24-bit Burr-Brown Advanced Segment-Type DAC and digital Low Pass and High Pass Filters for both 2 and 3-way audio, deliver crystal audio quality with extremely low levels of noise. The tuner also features D4Q+ technology, which delivers advanced FM/AM stereo reception with noise reduction, eliminating external interference. The unit features a Hi-Volt Output (5V), which provides a stronger signal to amp – again, with less noise and more definition. To optimise sound image, staging and frequency response, the DEH-P88RS uses automatic time alignment and equalisation to adjust the audio settings. This unit combines refined style – with a motorised aluminium face plate and white OEL screen - and high quality components. It’s the audiophile’s in-car CD tuner. The range of sounds, from bass to treble, a stereo component can reproduce. It's measured in Hertz (Hz), and a wider range is better — the bass will be lower and the treble will be higher. Humans can perceive sounds from 20 to 20,000 Hz. The lowest note on a bass guitar is about 41 Hz. Most male vocalists have a range between 100 and 500 Hz. Cymbals hit at about 15,000 Hz. RDS stands for Radio Data System. RDS tuners can automatically tune in stations according to the style of music (or talk) they broadcast. Some RDS tuners can even break in with traffic alerts or emergency broadcasts when you're listening to a CD. RDS enables your cd player to display data messages (such as Station name) that many FM stations include on a subcarrier signal within their normal broadcast signal. The Hard Wired Remote input allows you to connect the CD Tuner directly to your car’s own steering wheel remote control. You can then control your CD Tuner with the steering wheel remote control. Optional adaptors will be required. RCA pre-outs enable you to easily expand your sound system. You can significantly improve your in-car sound quality by connecting extra amplifiers (and upgrading your speakers) to your headunit. You can control all functions with the Rotary Commander single dial. The Rotary Commander works like a joystick, giving you speedy control over the CD Tuner. Turn it left or right , push it up or down, left or right, or press it to navigate joystick-style throughout different radio stations, access folders and files.
